I'm a 19-year-old college student planning on working part time. This will be my first actual job and I was just wondering if companies are ever allowed to pay lower than minimum wage as a starting wage. I live in California, so minimum wage is now $8. I was trying to research starting wages for Barnes and Noble and somewhere it said $6.75. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
