Mininova and uTorrent?

Question

First of all, is downloading off Mininova legal?

And second, is it safe to download uTorrent?

Thirdly, say I wanted to download a TV episode off Mininova, how do I put it through uTorrent? Does uTorrent convert it or something?

MinNova has some legal content, particularly their "Featured Content".  However, most of the torrents listed are copyrighted and being illegally distributed.

uTorrent is the most popular bittorrent client.  It is safe and one of the best.

To obtain content, first you download a small file (the torrent) associated with the content you want.  When you open the torrent in uTorrent, the transfer of the content begins.

1.  Mininova itself is legal to use.  The file you download may or may not be legal.  It's up to you to determine if the file you're downloading is shared legally.

2.  It's safe to download uTorrent from the uTorrent website, http://www.utorrent.com .  Downloading from any other site or source, you're taking a chance.

3.    .torrent files are basically instructions for uTorrent telling it how to download the file.  They are tiny, and should take only a few seconds to download.  Then you open the .torrent file in uTorrent, and then uTorrent downloads the TV episode or whatever from other people.

   Here's one way to do that:

   In Firefox, when you go to download from Mininova, a window will open asking you what Firefox should do with the file: save the file or open it in an external application.  Select "Open With", and browse to uTorrent from there.  If you check the box telling it to remember this next time, it should automatically open the file in uTorrent and start downloading from now on.

Torrents are like highways to a certain file, which are stored at peoples computer and then let you download from them , when it downloads its like getting a package it will save the file in a place you choose

erm!! the legal bit is a toughy. if you buy a cd, lets say oasis album, then you can legally download that album. downloading stuff you dont own is illegal. not sure how it works with tv shows. everybody downloads all the time, wether its music, films, tv shows, live concerts and this is done "illegally". nothing will happen. download utorrent or bit comet and install. then when on mininova, pirate bay, isohunt, torrent reactor, click on the file you want to download and it will go automaticly. you can watch your file and see how its coming along. when the download is complete you can watch or listen or play or install. mobile games, software for computer and loads of other stuff is available too.

1 only non-pirated stuff is leagal

Not that the RRIA Will break down your door but If you do download pirated, I recommend using the setting for a random port every time.
