I'm new here & heard if u argue with ya girl or say anything verbal that's outta line you go to jail for that...I was told it's caleld a 5th degree verbal assualt & if you threat her that a terriostic threat which can be like domestic abuse & can be felonies on ya record. For example so they mean to tell me if I came home from long day at work & if my girl was outside in front of my home wanna argue with me & leave her alone & go in my home & she calls them up they comming for me like that.Is that what I'm hearing,so far I heard that's true but that's bogus though becuz that can stop a guy from working for awhile plus if it's on his record what if these bosses are women who would wanna hire a verbal assualter huh? I even heard they got a staring law to if you look a person for to long you can go to jail for too...Minnesota got some weird bugged out laws here but is it really that serious come on now?

  1. The victim needs to have justifiable fear of bodily harm before anyone can be arrested let alone convicted.

And there is no such thing as 5th degree verbal assault.

  2. Yes, generally everyone gets tickets in domestic disputes in MN that involve a lot of noise and yelling.   We hate that c**p.

You're supposed to be "Minnesota Nice."  When you're mad at someone, instead of yelling just be really sarcastic and unrealisticly pleasant.  This is more effective anyway, because you are underhandedly making all sorts of insulting statements about them when you're sarcastic.

And ... sarcasm doesn't wake the neighbors.
