Hi my daughter is now 4 years old. Very healthy, never gets sick very minor colds maybe once a year that go away within hours. She has not had her shots after the age one. I started reading about and heard different things about them that concerned me. She is almost ready for school and im still undecided on what I want to do. Does she need to have the shots that she has not had or will they start with what she needs now? Thanks.

  1. I understand completely - one of my very close friends has a daughter who's now about 4. She's autistic & my friend thinks it's because of the high levels of mercury they put in vaccines. There is a lot of controversy around the subject. Everyone has their own opinion, but nothing's been proven or disproven. A lot still needs to be researched about vaccinations & what they do to children (especially in the doses they give them in as newborns!). In some states, it's required by law for your child to be up-to-date on his or her vaccinations to start school. In this case, the parenting role & your right to choose how to raise your child has been taken from you simply because the government feels your child will "contaminate" others by going to school without being vaccinated. If you're in a state where you still have the ability; choose what's best for you & your child. They will start her with what she needs now, but if there are any shots she missed that would've been a first (ie if she was supposed to get a tentus shot at age 6months & she never got it) then she will have to play catch up & get the shots she missed, too. In the end, it's ultimately your decision. YOU are the parent, and you know better than anyone what is best for your child. Good luck to you! :)

  2. get the shots done, she will be fine!!!

  3. IN all states you can just sign the waiver.  My sons go to school (public and private) unvaccinated.
