Question:

Missionary to Uruguay??

I was wondering if the country of Uruguay was friendly to missionaries. My family is a missionary family and have been interested in Uruguay for some time, and looks like we might be able to get to go.

Also if an American goes there, will they be able to get work easy? I know you don't have to have a visa if you are only there for ninety days, but can you get a work visa if you are going to be there longer??

  1. Uruguay has always been friendly to religious groups as the country has many adherents of Judaism, Anglicanism, Islam, etc.. You most likley will have to apply for a visa before going to Uruguay on a 90 day stay. While you don't need a visa for a stay of 90 days, you will need one for work (including missionary work) as well as for residency. Visit the Uruguayan embassy website for more information.
