Mississippi river flooding?

What states are primarily affected by it? And what caused these floods?

  1. Iowa, Illinois, Missouri.   I think that the floods were caused by (get ready for this)  too much rain, in too short a time.  But I betcha a buck that some idiot knucklehead will say that it was caused by global warming.


  2. Currently, the tri-states region is affected the most by them. Illinois, Iowa, and Missouri make up the tri-states in case you didn't know. During the past few weeks, heavy showers and thunderstorms have brought water levels up significantly. Since many rivers flow into the Mississippi river (directly or indirectly), it has risen well above flood stage. The water has nowhere to go, but into the floodplain. Many levies have failed because of high water pressure. At least 24 people have died already, and at least 38,000 have ruined homes.
