Mixing Nyquil with.... soda?

Question

I don't know my friends does this wacky thing where he mixes Nyquil with various stuff.

Is this bad? Or does it serve the same purpose?

haha it's called purple drank (actually purple drank is codeine but whatev it 's like the same thing)

yeah, i'm not gonna lie, it's tight. no it doesn't serve the purpose to help you cure your cold, it makes you high. it actually feels pretty cool, but it's not too good for you.

Nyquil is not anything to fool around with, it may not be a prescription medicine but abusing it can cause serious damage to your nerves.  For example misuse of this Nyquil can cause permanent numbness in hands and other nerve damage.  Everything isn't a joke or fun.  And misuse of any drug whether prescription or not is dangerous.

Mixing any Over the counter drug to get a desired drug like affect is NOT safe ever. Even if he has used it before does not mean he will not get a reaction. Many younger people use legal drugs and mix them to get a high but even if they are safe on their own does not mean they are good for your body if you don't NEED them.

He could die if he overdoses on medicine.  Tell him to stop.  It's not a fun thing to do.
