Mobile phone holder for car?

I just bought one of those moble phone holders for cars you attach to the air vent on the dash just wondering, if you can attach it to any of them because I have mine attached to the vent inches away from the steering wheel on the right,didnt know if there is a legal requirment that means it has to be a certain distance away from steering wheel ,indicators etc.

Turn your phone off and put it in your pocket

When you have finished your journey...  

Turn on phone

Nothing is that important

i don't think there are any actual laws with regard to where you can put a mobile phone holder or any other holder ( IE ipod holder) but it would be the same as for anything with regard to if it interferes with you driving in anyway.
