Model Search? Could i make it?

Question

I'm an aspiring model. ive only been on one little local fashion show and had pics taken by photographer friends.

this weekend there is a Fashion!Dallas/Kim Dawson Model Search and i want to go but i don't know if they'll even take me seriously. the girl they pick last year was super thin, blonde straight hair, fair skinned and the other finalists kind of followed that trend (a few were brunettes and they even had one plus size girl and a black chick too).

i on the other hand am 5'8 136lbs with crazy curly hair. i guess i would like to know if based on these pics, do i look like a model? (yea i think i kinda do but you wont see me like i do, that could just be pure vanity)do you think i stand a chance in a competition like this?

I was able to view your myspace page and have to admit that you have great potential.  But, the judges of that competition make the decision.  You may have worry to be concerned about your weight; but don't.  We need more models who are not skinny and are a nice weight.  I like that Tyra is like that, too.

However, I just read an article about the young lady on Baldwin Hills (BET) who became a model and was then shut out of the field because of her figure.  Today she no longer models.

But, I don't want to discourage you...you've got the look (and, you know it).  It's just getting with the right agency who can promote you.

Oh, and you'll probably have to leave Texas if you really want to be successful.
