Model with Fake water???

Question

My friend and i want to make a model of a tsunami and maelstrum, the only problem is that we dont know how to make realistic water to male them. Any ideas on how to make a model like this?

get a fish tank or some sory of tank that holds water. Then drop like a stone or something to show how tsunamis are created. I dont suggest using a stone because it will break glass, but i guess anything would do.

get something solid and realistic looking for color, then cover it in epoxy. You might even be able to trap some bubbles or do different things to it as it's drying to get a more water-like effect.

Use modeling clay (crayola brand is good)  and paint it, it will get hard over night.  Use blue paint with black and white paint for shadowing and defition to the wave!

You could try clear gelatin ( but not the kind you eat ), clear wax ( the type you make candles out of ), some type of epoxy, or if you wanted to keep it real simple, a cardboard structure with a thin overlay of crafted paper mac-he, which you could then paint, and to give it that glassy look water has, maybe a thin coating of petroleum jelly.

If you put detergent on the water it's viscosity will drop making small waves have the shape of bigger ones.

Whirpool:

You can do it gluing to plastic soda bottles by the caps, opening a hole in the caps and filling one with water

Tsunami:

just sink board vertically into a long acquarium halfway filled with water

sometimes if you use certain types of hair gel - the ones that get really hard and are EXTRA hold, they can look like clear water....for blue put construction paper under or food dye works sometimes...
