Money advice for a teen?

I'm turning 15 pretty soon and I need to find ways to start earning and saving..

Here's some info:

- I have about $749 in savings (not including around $60 in a piggy bank)

- I currently have $115 in my wallet.

What are some ways to see that money grow?

(Please don't tell me to babysit or garden)

Are there websites to earn money? Things like that...

  1. One of the best ways to turn your savings into ongoing cash is to use $50 of it to get a legitimate business license and tax ID so that you can get your own business up and running whether you sell products, provide services or a combination of the two. With a legal business, you can "write off" expenses that you'd normally pay out of pocket... internet costs, cell phone for business, education costs, and so much more. The products or services you venture into needs to be within your skills and interests. Why not consider a bookstore for specific titles of books, a website design business for small business, "green" products and services, or even selling used bicycles, skateboards, sports equipment, or whatever. Now is the time to think of what kind of business you'd like to run and move ahead to make it a reality. There's a group called Junior Achievements that can help you... check them out:

  2. I'm 15 and I found like a ton of sites to earn money on. But most people say ohh all them are scams. WELL THEY'RE NOT SCAMS. I found a ton of them and I have actually been paid by every single one I found. I made a website and listed all the great paying sites I use..

Everything is free to sign up.

    It's really easy.

I've earned a lot this way because I'm too young to get a job.

  3. Websites are more likely to take your money than pay you any.  If you have good computer skills and want to earn money that way, you might give lessons and/or help older people set up and use their computers.  You could probably earn about $15 an hour that way.

You are doing a good job of savings so far.  Do some reading this summer to learn more about finances and investing.  Perhaps you could subscribe to Money magazine for a year (cost about $12 if you watch for a special).  It is also available at the public library.

Also read the posts you will see here and in the Credit category.  Learn what NOT to do, which is run up a lot of credit card bills and loans.

You seem wise for your years.  Good luck to you!
