Mono the kissing disease?

my friend just felt sick yesterday & found out he had mono today.

but, i kissed him on sunday.

any chances i have it ?!

Its highly likely as it is transmitted via saliva.  Many people are asymptomatic though.  This virus (Epstein-Barr) is a latent virus which means that it hides out in your body (B-cells).  90% of USA is infected.  The symptoms are pretty mild: malaise, lip swelling, tonsillitis, enlarged spleen and liver, fever, and they generally last 1-4 weeks.
