I really want to get a monroe or septum piercing, but i'm 13.

if i get my septum piercing, i want to get like an 18G 3/4 one. and i could always flip it up

& if i get a monroe, i want a really less noticeable gem like 2mm or something.

and i have another question, my school doesn't allow facial piercings so if i get my monroe or septum done at the very beginning of summer will i be able to take it off before school starts? (and wear it like after school and stuff?)

  1. Well I'd obviously I'd say not to.

But if you're set on it, go for septum. You won't have to take it out for school. Blackline retainers are pretty unnoticeable.

And if you decide you don't like it anymore, you aren't left with any of the nasty scarring. Also doesn't mess up your teeth.

  2. I think you are too young but....

An 18g is WAY too small. get at least a 16g.

And you won't have to take out your septum piercing, just get a retainer like this one http://www.piercology.com/store/customer... that you can flip up.

if you get the monroe done in the summer it will be healed enough so you can wear a clear retainer instead of a labret.

  3. don't bother they both are stupid and you'll regret them after you have them!!

  4. Septum piercings are definetly easier to hide by flipping them up.  Monroe's can be really noticeable depending on your skin type, etc.  But the septum piercing does hurt a lot.  The monroe is less painful. For the septum, you shouldnt take it out or change the jewelry until atleast 2-3 months after you get it done, so if school starts around then you should be fine, monroe's can usually be changed within 4 weeks, although it is recommended you wait 6-8 weeks.

  5. If it is okay with your parents, go for it. Most places require that you be 14, sometimes even 16. You need parental consent, and often have to bring a birth certificate with you.

DO NOT PIERCE IT YOURSELF. DO NOT HAVE SOME KID RAM A NEEDLE THROUGH YOUR NOSE/LIP. This doesn't make you cool or tough or whatever, it makes you an idiot. Get your piercing professionally done in order to avoid both infection and other serious problems. You have certain blood vessels and such in your lips that can become seriously damaged if punctured because you decided you'd let any nut with a needle just stab away at you.

If your school doesn't allow it, don't even bother. Piercings heal up fast, especially after an 8 or so hour day. Nose piercings heal up especially quick, so you may end up having to repierce it, which hurts like h**l.

  6. Since I don't know what either one is, I'd suggest to talk to your parent.

  7. I'd get your MONROE <3 done, my sister had hers and she was taking it out after two weeks =] plus it's less noticeable so maybe you won't have to take it out. g'luck.
