Moped license?

I don't have a bike license, but i do have a full moped license from having a car license

i know that i can ride a 50cc on the road, but can i

take somone on the back?

do i have to put L plates on?

and do i have to keep it restricted?

  1. you cant take somebody on the back because you need to take your pillion test

    and yes u will have to keep it restrcited because derestricting it is still breaking the law, moped are restricted for a reason!

    and there is no need for l plates if u have ur full moped lincense but i would check a highway code book before hand, mine doesnt seem to say!:


  2. Yes you can take passenger but only on 50cc unless passed b4 1991 then upto 125cc.

    You should never unrestrict a moped, can damage it, but that doesn't mean you can't. LOL

  3. If you have a full moped license due to the age of your driving licence, (ie obtained before 1 February 2001) it will show a category P entitlement.

    You won't need L plates, you can't derestrict it & you can carry a pillion passenger if the machine is designed to do so.
