Tony Blair, in which case New Labour will have to create more wars.

There won't be any more police recruited, Gordon has just promised to try to cut their paperwork, something New Labour has promised in the past but has continually failed to implement. Police numbers have actually been falling of late.

This announcement fits in nicely with next weeks by-election, as did the 2p fuel duty announcement yesterday, no doubt it will all be forgotten about after next weeks result.
