  1. Christ is my greatest "authority".

The scriptures are the word of God and they are equally important for our progression. I wouldn't put one book before another. They all are companions to one another and are testaments of Jesus Christ's ministry.

I seek the heart of God by reading the four sacred volumes of scripture daily, praying morning and night, attending church. I try to keep the commandments of God so that I will have the privilage of having the constant companionship of the Holy Ghost with me.

  2. I would say the Bible, Book of Mormon, and Doctrine and Covenants are all equally important. The Pearl of Great Price is important too, but it's like the old testament compared to the new testament.

The Prophet however is the highest, in my opinion. He revels things directly from God and the scriptures record the things that were revealed in the past. He is the one who is the most important.

I seek the "heart of God" by praying. I'm not sure what you mean by that exactly. I pray and read the scriptures and try to live the life of acceptance and love that Christ told us to. I try to love everyone no matter who they are or what their personality type is. I know it's impossible and sometimes I can't do it, but I do try my hardest to be as nice as possible.

  3. None of those scriptures are "greater" than the others. They aren't complete without each other.

Reading scriptures will reveal Heavenly Father's will and plan for out lives. Through careful study, we can grow closer to him. That's ALL scriptures.

  4. The greatest authority is God.  His word is revealed thru His servants, the prophets.  We have the words of prophets preserved in the scriptures you mentioned.

But our ultimate authority is direct communication with God in prayer [see James 1:5].

  5. The greatest authority I have as a Christian is the Bible, and more importantly the Christ of the Bible.  Sometimes however as a human that just doesn't always happen.  I can doubt and be stubborn.  I've been upset at God, until I realized His answer was for my better good.  Doctrines are man made, but belonging to a Christian church they are from the Bible.

God is in control, and I don't need to be trying to do His job.  He knows best.

  6. They ALL support each other

  7. What Bonus said... unless the Prophet doesn't say "Simon Says" first, 'cause then he's just speaking as a man.

Like when Brigham Young said there were men on the moon.

  8. The Greatest Authority is Jesus Christ. Books have no authority. God has authority, Christ has authority, and They pass it on to us, to use to run His church.

  9. the greatest authority is God. and because we believe that our sustained living prophet is the direct mouthpiece of the Lord, and continues to receive revelation pertaining to God's desires for us to know, i would then say the current sustained prophet. as far as the scriptures and their authority, the book of mormon and bible are equal, and core scripture that are studied and are the most often quoted and derived from. the pearl of great price is very small and i think often overlooked, but it's contents still of great worth. the doctrine and covenants is more of modern day revelation and church doctrine. basically i would say that all are scripture and all are essential in understanding God's gospel and His plan for us. None of them are contradictory to one another, so i wouldn't say that one words trumps the other.

as far as seeking God on a personal basis, i do a lot of different things. i have personal prayer where i speak to Him with my thanks and desires and personal conflicts, and we have family prayer every night where we do the same things on a family basis. i read the scriptures and seek out truth. i attend church meetings and serve others. i try to live my life in a Christ like way so that not only will i benefit as well as my family, but also that i might be an example and hopefully draw others to want to learn of Christ. i try to remember always of the sacrifice Christ made for me, and try to live worthy of that sacrifice- even though i know it's still was made whether or not i do- but for me, i feel like then at least it was worth it. i try to think of my Father in Heaven as just that, my father. and to seek out a relationship with Him as a child does with a parent. And i think of Christ as my Savior- my friend and my brother.
