Bob Marley is always talking about getting to Zion by smoking some green in his songs... can you do this? Are you fans of Bob Marley?

I don't know much about Bob Marley. I like some reggae music and I like some of his music also but I don't know much about him as a man.

The articles that I can find on him say that he was believed to embrace Christianity sometime shortly before his death. I can't find anything saying that he became a Mormon but what I can tell you is that Mormons don't smoke cigarettes, don't drink alcohol and definitely don't smoke the green stuff. It's called the Word of Wisdom and it is because we consider our bodies to be the temple of the Holy Spirit and so refrain from these things to keep our bodies pure and as healthy as possible. (We see everyone's body as the temple of the Holy Spirit - just so there's no misunderstanding that we only view ourselves this way). In order to get baptized, he would have to have given up any or all of these things. A lot of articles seem to mention Bob Marley and Mormons in the same article but they don't go as far as to say that he became one. Possibly, he was checking into that when he died.
