I have to do three projects in a span of three days. One big project and two average sized ones. For each one I need to read a book so, three books. I do not want to do these, at all. But I know I have to. What do you do for motivation when you just can't face a boring book about climbing Everest? Motivation techniques?

  1. Don't think. Don't dread. Just do. You are running out of time reading my answer, GET ON IT!!!!

  2. You sound like me!  I have a 15 pg. term paper due Monday and an all-essay final exam to take in the morning...and look what I'm doing, answering questions instead of studying/writing!  What usually helps me is I think of how embarrassing it will be to see my professor and I've done a bad job or gotten a bad grade.  That is mortifying to me so it kinda helps me want to do well.  Another suggestion - just do it...these days will be over before you know it, and you'll be free of projects!

  3. I typically break my tasks into really tiny parts.  REALLY tiny.  That way I will feel good about accomplishing the first part and keep going!  Sometimes I will give myself rewards too, like after so many hours of work, I get to have ice cream or something.

Actually, I really stink at self-motivation.  Sometimes I just have to sit down and force myself to concentrate.  And that's where the tiny little tasks come in useful.

  4. Do what my sister did::

Buy the tape and just listen to it,instead of reading it yourself.

It may help you to understand better too, because its like someone else is reading it to you.
