After reading this : http://www.motogp.com/en/news/2008/Ezpeleta+gives+update+on+proposal+for+new+class

It wont be long before all strokers are gone.

I thought the 250's would get replaced by 450cc 4 strokes as many of the big 4 already make MX engines of this size.

I quess the good news behind this, is all 4 Japanese makes will be back in the title race.

Now that would be fun!!

Your thoughts please?

  1. I like the 250cc... but honestly, I kind of have problems with understanding the differences between 250cc and 450cc (for example). I know they are more powerful and stuff, but this is as far as my knowledge goes. I should really hire you and start paying you for some motorcycle lessons 0_o

  2. Hi Wiggysan, I think your right about 450cc being the fav. as the 600s are covered by superbike.  personally i would have likes to see the 400s come back. Memories of my RD come back along with the little NSR. (ah yes) but i think they have put it back another year I was expecting changes in 2010. along with the AMA changes. maybe they are going to wait and see how that pans out. but i think the likes of aprillia and KTM are going to play a big part in this decision. Aprillia already saying they want to get back into GP. and going to develop the bike themselves instead of the cosworth disaster last time out.  ( I notice Lotus are doing a good job with Debon's machine.) But as you say they are closer to a 450 machine than anything else at the moment (MXrs) I also think the 600 idea might be a bit too close to the GP bikes. and might even end up being quicker. who knows.  but they are talking about all kinds of regulations too. maybe too many regs. time will tell on this one.
