I know I should know this but I dont and I wouldnt know where to start looking. But in answering an email to a friend a question came to me.

When was the last time a GP season had no Japanese rider.

the question came about while thinking of the silly season when everyone is guessing who goes where. I though what about those that come from the All Japan Road Raceing season.

As the regulars know Im a Fan of the Japanese riders. so I should know this. But......

Did you know from memory or did you go to the GP website to find out.

  1. If you mean for 500's only - 1977 - x*x -

  2. Hi Proc

Do you mean complete the entire season or a just compete as a wildcard somewhere, and in any particular class.

The MotoGP website has got a load of historical results on it, if you can trawl through that lot you will get your answer, I've gone back to 85 and find occasional references to Japanese riders, so I guess it's before then, probably into the sixties when they entered the arena with their bikes.

  3. I think Richard might be right on this one.
