I want to get a bike but am worried that it will be much more easier to get stolen as opposed to a car , someone can just load it onto a trailer and drive of with it. What are some security measures to prevent motorbike theft.

  1. have a GPS installed - get it as an extra from the dealer where you buy it

  2. Locks, park it in well lighted areas. don't leave it on the street, install a low jack system. Remember all these things are only a deterrent, if someone really wants your bike, they will get it.

  3. Disc brake lock with built in movement sensor is a good all round alarm. Prevents movement both physically and with audible alarm that warns with slight movement then goes ballistic if bike continues to move.

Get insurance too if cost of bike warrants.

  4. It really comes down how crummy of a neighborhood you are in and how isolated your bike is parked where someone with a truck could easily take it without being seen by neighbors or any other witnesses.  If you live an okay neighborhood and ahve good neighbors watching out, you probably won't have a problem.

You have your front wheel locks, alarms and the decision to chain your bike up to a post if you don't park your bike in a garage.

If you work/live in a big city and usually have to park on the side of the street, think about parking inside parking garages that often have guards and/or cameras

  5. secure it as best you can so you can show you took best efforts in the event of a theft. Theives will steal the bike if they want it alarms locks what ever worry more about haveing fun rideing and just use a little good sense. Happy rideing

  6. sure they can.. is why they make alarm and locks... really depend on the bike and the hood your living in....

  7. big chain bolted to floor or wall.....ive seen scum pushing bikes away on 2 scateboards..
