Moving Furniture?

I'm moving to Australia and I would like to know if it's cheaper to move all my furniture there or should I sell it and buy everything new once I'm over there? And any idea of the cost involved if I do move it?

  1. Before selling everything, I would get in touch with moving companies and even freight forwarders.  If you are lucky enough to work in a company that engages freight forwarders, see if they have any employee discounts available.

While you may want to sell everything, I am sure there might be well loved pieces you would want to keep.  Even knowing how much it would cost to move those would be a good idea.  Are you starting a new job in AU?  If so, there may be a moving budget you may be able to use to move the most treasured items.

Good luck in your new home!
