hi, i'm looking to move out of london, i have a 9 year old daughter and do not want her growing up in the middle of all the gun and knife crime (if you see the sun newspaper today the little girl who got held at knife point by a 10 year old was my neice) i'm thinking of brighton, has anyone got any advice, is this a good place to raise a child?

  1. I haven't seen the Sun but I'm sorry to hear about your niece, I hope she is ok now.

Like most places, Brighton has its good areas and its bad areas. I would avoid some parts of Whitehawk. If you are used to living in London then Brighton will probably be similar in terms of price etc.

    Good luck

  2. better than some, you`l have the beach, and the City its self,

  3. Brighton is very expensive- the same sort of price as the nice parts of London.

It's a nice city, and the beach is lovely. I'd think it'd be nice for a child to grow up in, especially with all of its 'alternative' shops.

On the other hand, it is quite a sexual place, and she might become aware of things far younger than she would have done in London (s*x shops etc)

I'd like to move to Brighton, but I can't afford it.
