Mt Isa Football Players 1970 -1971?

I found an old photo in my dad's possessions, on the back of the photo is written "The Mighty men of Mt Isa". Have been told this could relate to working in the mine or football. My dad was never in Mt Isa. Need help identifying the men in the photo please.

I don't envy your task, Good Luck with your search. Best shot is to start with AFL Clubs in the area. That was the most popular code. Mt Isa had three teams in a comp that commenced in the 1950's. They were The Buffaloes, Rovers and Tigers. You don't say what code of football, but if they have a uniform on, you can probably guess from there. Otherwise all I can suggest is that you look up the history of mining at Mt Isa, it possibly may say they had some social teams who played one another. Sorry I can't be of more help to you.
