I've driven my 03 Murano SL for about 28 months, 41,000 miles. Over the past week, I started hearing a "rattling" noise, mainly when I accelerated at low speeds. Yesterday the "Service Engine Soon" light came one, apparently indicating a transmission problem. The noise is getting louder - it sounds like a coffee can full of pepples being shaken when I accelerate. When I shift into neutral, it seems to go away. Clearly I need to take it to the dealership, I was just looking for opinions before I do that. Thanks for any help.
