  1. 5280 cues look cool, but the ones that I have seen up close don't have inlays, its a sticker or something.  I have also heard a lot of negative things about meucci cues as of late with their quality.  If you are going to spend good money on a quality cue, look into a Joss, schon, Jacoby, or maybe even a Predator even though I feel some of their cues are way over priced.  I do like their hustler style cues though.  I'm sure you'll get some other good ideas from other people here, most really know what they are talking about. Good luck, and keep racken em up!

  2. If you've got $400 to spend on a pool cue, you should be looking at custom cues. It might not look as cool as a production cue without all the decorations, but it'll outplay them all. Check out the links I provided below for a couple of options in custom cues in that price range. There are more out there so you don't have to limit yourself, these are just suggestions.

I would not recommend Meucci for anyone. There are much better options out there for the price (even in production cues) and the solid maple shafts they stopped making years ago actually perform better than their current shafts. I have no experience with 5280 cues.
