My Firefox isn't working?

I just finished downloading firefox and it's not letting me looking up other websites. How can I fix that and how? Or am I doing something wrong?

I don't understand how it's not letting you look up websites. Firefox is a browser, not a search engine. Go to http://www.google.com or http://www.yahoo.com and search from there. Firefox usually installs with a seach widget, on the far right of the same toolbar with the back button.

I promise you if you download safari off the apple site u will like it. its soo quick and simple (i have a pc)

If you are doing everything you did in IE and it is still not working, then something is wrong with Firefox, I would suggest that you reinstall the browser.
