Question:

My PMS is a real problem....?

Like the whole week before my period (And it has been getting worse lately) I just feel horrible. I have always picked fights with my boyfriend or gotten irritated with him for no good reason--which I already feel horrible about, but now my PMS has escalated into a sense of depression, where only a few things make me actually feel happy, and only for a short while. I'm going crazy, because I love my life, and I usually always enjoy myself, but whenever this time comes around I feel like I'm forcing smiles.

My question is what can I do about this? I know birth control pills, especially Yaz, can help with PMS symptoms like mine, but I don't want to be on birth control (religious and personal reasons)

Is there any non-birth control pill that could help me, or anything else that I could do?

  1. Midol??? Chocolate??? Baths???

Depending on your religion it birth control might be allowed if not used for actually controlling birth but for period regulating and stuff. (not trying to push u into it just if you didnt know)

  2. ugh join the club! a week before my period and until my period is like 1/2 way over i start getting cramps in my stomach but mostly back. then i start getting head aches and am really tired. about 2 days before my period i start becoming a total b*tch. someone always gets bad at me, which then leads to depression. finally, my period. then a few days of all those symptoms until my period is about 1/2 way done.

i want to go on yaz even though im 14. i take advil. i saw a commerical for some kind of medicine that could help with those symptoms, but not sure what is was exactly. talk to your doctor and see what they can do for you!

    good luck!

  3. It's hormonal, so there's nothing really you can do unless you take a hormone pill. You can ask your doctor if there's anything besides birth control that can do this but I doubt it. You might have PMDD, not just PMS.

  4. i would go to your doctor and talk about something that may not be birth control..

when your pmsing try talking to people that make you happy.

    best of luck :]

  5. Talk to your doctor about it. S/he can offer advice and maybe prescribe something that isn't birth control.

  6. go  see u r doctor

  7. Check with your doctor, but I have seen prescriptions for an antidepressant that is only taken during PMS.  I seem to think that might not work very well unless you take it daily, because it can take 4-6 weeks of continuous use to work.

Another option:  increase exercise!  I have heard that exercise (atleast 30min daily) can improve minor depression atleast as well as medication.  (the endorphin rush or Runners High from chemicals released when you exercise.

  8. when i'm on my period and i get mad at my boyfriend afterwards i just tell him that i'm on my period, he doesn't really understand what it feels like but her always forgives me because he knows that i can't help it.

When i'm on my period i try to enjoy it, it's the only time of the month that i can be mean and have an excuse.

  9. u better get yo *** on sum BC cuz PMSing is life threatning!

  10. Omg! I have the same exact problem. Except I argue with my sister and who ever is arund me for no reason once so ever. But I think you should probably see a doctor about that and so do I. But if you find out what you can do for it please tell me.
