My PSP Screen is Cracked?

My inner PSP screen is cracked and I don't know what to do. Everything else still works flawlessly. The outer screen has no problems either. I just bought it a month ago from walmart. Should I contact sony or buy a new one?

You may be able to find another PSP on Ebay that is broken but has an intact LCD screen. There should be tutorials on the web that will show you how to replace the screen.

I did this with my digital camera. It was ran over by a car and the only thing wrong with it was the lcd and outer case. I had never opened a camera before but followed directions I found on the internet and replaced the lcd and the outer case.

This will save you a lot of money if you can do it correctly.

Try searching 'PSP as is' on Ebay.

You can contact sony and use the Guarantee but you still have to pay a loda cash for postage and packaging.You could try taking it back to Walmart and telling them that it was busted when you opened it OR you could do what i do with my cracked psp screens and buy a new one of Ebay and install it yourself. Its pretty easy to do and there are loads of online tutorials on how to do it. But theres one problem. As soon as you open your psp's casing, it voids the warranty.

PS. Someone said above me that you will need a soldering iron. You dont!!!!

Sony should be able to replace the screen for you. You should always protect your screen with a film of special plastic made for protection purposes. It does offer protection against scratches and minor bumps. I would get it fixed as soon as possible as you don't want dust getting into the unit. You should have info on the packaging or the manual that came with the unit regarding the Sony closest to you. You could even ask Walmart if they have new casings for sale. Sometimes you can get lucky. Try places like Game Stop or even Circuit City etc..they may be able to help you out or tell you where you can obtain more help.

See how much sony will charge for it, then bring it to walmart. See which has the best options.

No problem same thing happened to me, i bought a screen from ebay that was unused and followed the directions, i think they got instructions with the kit depending on whihc one you get. Youll need a screwdriver and a saudering iron

nither try play -n- trade.

whereas sony pays around $90 to send it in and fix it play N trade only costs you $30 and they fix it within 24 hrs. or less in the store
