My Pointe Shoes?

Question

First off... I have Grishko 2007's soft or medium shank.

I am starting my summer intensive this monday and i would like to know how long my pointe shoes will last.

I've worn them for 3 intermediate pointe classes (each 1 hour long) so far.

I'll be taking 5 hours of intermediate/advanced pointe per week.

will they last 5 weeks at 5 hours per week?

or will i need to get new ones.

they probably won't last. sorry-i know they're expensive, but after all that pointe work, they'll probably die...........

it depends on how strong your foot is and what kind of point you are doing. With me, i would need another pair half way through intensive but it depends on how fast you break them in and how long until the shank breaks.

no one can answer this. it all depends on your arches.  my arches are fair, not strong or weak, and i'd say there's a 50% chance they'd last the whole time. but you're supposed to have 2 pairs of pointe shoes at all times. get another pair because it's not like they go "bad" haha i've had my extra pair, then they turn into my regular pair. every dancer should have 2 pairs of shoes and make sure the second pair i ready to go ;)
