My Printer? how do i scan? ?

ok ummm well i have an hp printer/copier/scanner/Faxer

so i want to scan a photo onto my computer but everytime i put a picture in n press scan it says : " You Need to install or run HP Software for this feature. " wat does that mean? n how can i run this software? is it something i buy? PLZ HELP!

The printer won't run without the software. All printers come with a CD.

you need to run the cd that came with the printer

Your printer likely came with a disc to install program. if you don't have one, try going to hp website for help.
