My Room Is Too Brown?

Question

My bedroom has light wooden floors, light wooden binds and light wooden furniture. This along with cream walls and dark brown fitted wardrobes has given me a really brown room.

What can I do to make it more colourful? (Please don’t recommend painting the walls or new furniture, ideas under £100/$200 each)

Get a nice little blue throw rug, and a blue comforter. You might also want to make some sheers. I love the colours blue ad brown together.

get a bright coloured rug or carpet. you can change the curtains. and throw some brightly coloured pillows here and there so it looks really comfy. put some posters up if you want to and get a disco ball lol joking!

Get a comforter set that is say a light greenish and curtains that is a light greenish.

Get a greenery plant to put in one of the corners and some small greenery plants to hang on both sides of the bed to look uniform.

get lots of different coloured photo frames and put them on your wall with colourful pictures in them...

line them up like one at top, one at bottom, top, bottom, top, bottom   so don't put them up in a straight line...

well you just have to pick an accent color that looks great.  I recommend a blue.  then you can get... blue  candles, pictures with blue, mabye blue vase... something to your tastes...  throw pillows, sheet on the bed,. pillow cases, a comforter with the color in it.... anything just throw some color in... Get green, blue, or red shades or curtains.

get rugs for the floor, blankets to drape over the funiture, and you could put posters/pictures on your wall.

plus if your stuff is in there already it will be a little brighter.

Oh one more thing if you have a window, a curtien(sp?)

Get some nice colorful pillows for your couch.  Hang some pictures on the walls.  Put a nice rug down on the floor.

Try changing the bed linens or wall pictures.  I usually find a picture that I really like (that matches the room) and use the colors out of it.  Artists usually have good color tastes.

Instead o painting the walls why don't you stain the furniture. Or paint. It would be cheap. Also you could get a rug and a shelf and display some colourful nicknacks or something.

I would go with a blue comforter with some brown in it...If you look in some catologs that is very popular...an for decorations in your room you can add some blue candles an things like that
