My camera will not flash?

I don't know what happened to it, but my camera will not flash. I went to make sure the flash was turned on, and alas, it was. I go to take a picture and it says "charging flash" and then when it takes a picture, it is all dark and you can hardly make out what the picture is. Also, my camera also used to hold like...550 pics or so, and then all of a sudden it only held 250, even when there are no pictures taken. I took one picture, and then went to delete it, and "formatted" the card. Then all the memory and the 550 picture/video memory was back.

help with the flash!

If your flash was still charging that is why it did not fire.  Try giving it longer to charge.  If that does not work try new batteries.  If it still does not work it needs to be repaired.
