My car over heats whats wrong?

when i get on the highway it over heats when i have the AC. on but if im off the highway driving then the AC. don't blow cool air what could be the problem.

  1. Try turning the heater on it will pull heat away from the engine.Sorry it will be uncomfortably hot. It could be the air compresser siezing up.


  2. You are either low on coolant or your thermostat is sticking. take your car to a garage and get a professional to look at it

  5. Check to see if the cooling fan isn't turning on or maybe you can get the radiator flushed and have them check for a  leak. you can also have the compressor checked. Make sure the radiator has free-on.

  7. overheating can be caused by many thing,s..first check your coolant level , next check water pump belt tension , have your cooling system [ including radiator cap] pressure tested,insure your cooling fan,s are operating properly,then check for thermostat operation...as far as your air conditioning system...you may need to add additional freon...good luck!
