  1. Shave your cat bald.

  2. ask a vet

  3. Since you question is in the past tense I assume it has already been reduced. If not then here are a few pointers I pulled from another web site and don't know which one.

Don't use medicated shampoos made for humans because they can be harmful for pets. Use a mild shampoo and massage it well into your cat's skin.

    * Do not use flea shampoos. They are too drying to the skin, which will worsen your cat's dandruff problems later on.

    * Do not use hot water. Use warm water. Let me repeat it one more time: Do not use hot water. Use warm water. I can not stress this any more here as this is the most common mistake cat owners make. Use your elbow to touch the water to feel if it's hot, as you do to your new born babies, remember the days when you just became a parent?

Frequently brush and groom your cat will make natural oils spread evenly over cat's skin, which will reduce cat dandruff problem in the future.

There are times we' see dandruff when cats are short of fat in their diets. Provide your cat with pet fish oil supplements which you can buy from pretyy much any pet store, and sometimes Amazon.com has the product with even better price.

Diet plays a role in dealing with cat dandruff problem. I heard that many cats, when switching from generic cat foods to a high quality cat foods which are rich in oil, have completely got rid of their cat dandruff problem.

So give your furry little pet appropriate bath and diet. It is important in preventing and treating cat dandruff.

  4. give the d**n puss some selsun blue

  5. Hi,

I'm sorry to hear of your cat's dandruff problem. It could be a couple of different things. Take a look at what you are feeding your cat. A diet of all dry food may prevent your cat from getting all the moisture he or she needs. Another thing could be a medical condition called Hyperthyroidism. This has been known to make cats lose their hair and have lots of dry flaky skin. The best thing to do would be to have kitty checked out by your local veterinarian.

I hope you find this helpful.

    Best wishes for your kitty!

  6. pert plus

  7. I think your cat is ill.  He or she is peeing on things which is often a sign of a UTI.  Dandruff in addition to that makes me think there's poor nutrition going on.

I suggest a vet visit to have him or her checked for a UTI (I know this is unsolicited advice).

Then look at the diet.  Wet food will help, as will adding some fish oil to the diet.

  8. this is a dietary problem. she needs good quality can food added to her diet (try friskies). 3 tablespoons a day in addition to her dry food, will get her skin and coat healthy

  9. Dander is natural for a cat when it's emotions are elevated.  My cats gets excessive dander at the vet because she's nervous.  Also sometimes when she is extrememly happy or stressed or scared.  If it seems to be a problem, you can pick up a special shampoo at Petsmart or Petco that might help, or you could ask your vet.

  10. its probably their food, but yeah, you'd have to ask your vet

Also i believe they make dandruff shampoo for cats if your cat will let your bathe him/her
