My cd drive.....?

doesn't work, meaning that it doesn't read

cds that I put in. So I was wondering if I uninstalled it

and restarted my computer, and restalled it, would that make it work again?

If you now something that can make it work please tell me!

Are these home burned CDs or store bought ones?

Try playing store bought ones and see if they work.  If they do the problem might be the drive being incompatible with the burned disks.

First, make sure you test CDs that worked before that doesn't work now. If you are trying a new CD and it doesn't read, then maybe that new CD isn't compatible.

If an old CD doesn't work... Try asking tech support from your Computer's Manufacture. Most of the websites (Dells, Compaq, HP, Gateway, etc) have chat tech support online.
