My computer is HOT!?

It's always hot cause i'm on for as long time and sleep is malfunctioning and i don't want to turn it off and on. Any recommends?

It is either you turn it off and allow it to rest or you don't turn it off and allow everything to overuse and burn out soon. Those are the only options. You choose from the two.

Sleep and Standby are ACPI Power Options in the BIOS.

Presuming you must turn it off at some point then on restart check in the BIOS and enable the powersave settings. once you have these correctly set Windows will allow you to sleep/hibernate etc etc.

Reinstalling windows here is not the fix.

Follow the advice for cleaning and improving airflow in the computer as well.

If it is a desktop, make sure there is enough space between the wall and the fans on the back of the computer.

Also, make sure the fans are working properly.

Because of their extended use, you may want to clean the fans to ensure that they are working at their best or replace them if they are malfunctioning. To clean the fans use an air can.

You may also want to make sure the room temperature is stable and somewhat cool.

As mentioned before, the use you're giving to your computer will cut the lifespan of the components. But really, I am not the one to judge since I do the same.

If it's a laptop, make sure the fan is working and clean. The option they gave you, an external fan is a good option that you may want to look into if you feel that the fans on the laptop are not enough.

As far as the sleep problem, you may want to do a fresh install of windows to have it working properly.

If you are running any number crunching software that runs during inactivity I would disable that. Also, maybe remove the cover and blow the mother board off if it is dusty. If you have it in a cabinet, leave the door open and be sure you have plenty of room for air flow. Turning it off and on probably is no worse than running it hot.

If its a desktop then you can buy a few extra fans if you have the mounts for them inside the computer, but if you don't then you can buy a slot fan, which plugs into a port on the back and does a fair job of cooling. You could also quick-fix it by opening the side and putting a big window fan blowing into it.

If its a laptop then you can buy a laptop cooler, which run off a USB plug and slide under the laptop to keep it cool.
