My computer is less than a year old and it is really running loud lately. We do live in the country and have a lot of dust in the air...could that be why it is loud? What can I do to "quiet" it down?

Thanks!

  1. Its The Fan.

  2. you can get some1 2 fix ur computer and see whtas wrong with it.   and in some stores you can get something to get the dust away from that area.

  3. Get some compressed air and clean the fan(s) with it. You might want to open the case (assuming you don't have warranty issues with doing so) and use the air to clean it from both sides.

Otherwise your fan might be failing and you might need a replacement.

  4. Probably the fan as others said. BUT since you live in the country and have alot of dust - try doing something.

Shut down computer and pull it out so you can see the back side of the computer. See all those air intake area's? See how dusty and full of gunk they are? Gently take a swiffer or something soft and wipe the dust and dustbunnies out. When they get blocked, they cannot take in air, so your computer fan cannot run properly and therefore strains (loud noise you hear). Another thing, is to make sure you have your computer in an area where it can easily get the airflow to the back of the computer - Your computer needs to take in air so it can help to run cooler - it will overheat and you can cause damage to computer parts.

  5. sure its dust. you need to clear it 1 per month by blow air to it. and do this cuz dust is really bad for PCs.

  6. it will be the dust in the air clogging the shield and getting in the fan, this will raise the temperature of your tower. as your pc detects this rise in temp it will speed up your fans
