Question:

My fault or not?

After several ultarasounds and hcg blood tests I was diagnosed with not a viable pregnancy. There was no fetal pole, no heart beat. I am feeling terribly guilty as I drank a cup of chamomile tea and read that chamomile is a stimulant for your menstrual period. I feel that I killed my baby and that the tea stop the development of the fetus. There is no going back and don't know what to do, eventhough doctor's say that could not have been it, I feel that it was. I know that nothing is going to comfort me and found some really supportive people on here is there any doctors out there or any one with same experience. please i can't live with my own soul.

  1. **BIG HUGS**

I am so sorry for your loss.  This is not your fault.  Trust your doctors.  You did nothing wrong.

  2. Not your fault in the least. Chamomile is a sedative. I had plenty of it before I found out I was pregnant. I now have a healthy 3 month old.  Hang in there, you'll have another chance I'm sure.

  3. 1. sorry for your loss.

    2. It happens, alot more than people think. 1-4 pregnancies end for no reason at all. don't beat yourself up, if you think it was the tea, then next time don't drink it. Honestly my wife drinks all kinds of teas, including Chamomile, she never had a problem with pregnancies... we did have a few miscarriages, but why? who knows... I thought it was the paint I used on the bedrooms, but really? who knows!

  4. you did NOTHING wrong. My best friend drank chamomile tea through her entire pregnancy.

Your baby stopped developing because of a genetic problem which you in no way caused or could have caused.

Please please do not blame yourself, this is NOT your fault.

I am so very sorry for your loss, take care many hugs your way.

  5. I doubt a cup of tea would do it.  I've heard of girls who've gone out and gotten very very drunk for several weekends in a row, falling down drunk...before they knew they were pregnant and they've had perfectly fine children in the end.  Sometimes during conception the connections that need to be made between splitting cells just don't work out right.  There's no one to blame for it this is just something that happens.  It's always a roll of the dice whenever any of us gets pregnant.  Sorry for your loss.

  6. Girl i can Imagine how you must be feeling because i lost my first baby too. I give you my condolences.....now I'm a Latina and people they say don't do this don't do that and its followed by you cant drink this or that but all that you have to know is that they are myths..If you ask your doctor and he/she tells you that its okay then believe your doctor because that is what the regular visits are for. I now have a 4 month old baby and during the pregnancy people told me to put a safety pin in my belly because of an eclipse or a full moon and i didn't listen, my baby was born healthier than ever she passed the hearing test (and all the other test they do when the babies are born) with a perfect percentage. And no you didn't do anything wrong so don't worry about that.
