My friend is on probation......?

hello my friend is on probation in PA until feb. of 09 i guess 5 and a half months from now, now he moved to missouri without saying anything to his probation officer...now would his probation officer be able to come get him if he were to get a warrent for his arrest or would that be out of pa's juristiction??

there is that little thing called EXTRADITION. PA might come get him depending how severre the charges against him are. For example, if he is wanted for shoplifting, they will not extradite. they will hld the warrant untl or if her returnes to PA. If the charge is a violent crime and/or a felony, they male be making a trip to MO and coming back w/ your friend. the real answer is it all comes down to $$$

A warrant will definitely be issued for arrest and if the probation officer finds out that he is in Missouri, I wouldn't put it past the officer to contact the appropriate authorities in Missouri to pick him up. That's what will most likely happen if the probation officer finds out where he or she is located.

If he gets pulled over in Missouri and his name is run...he's screwed as his information is in the national database. He should just fess up, deal with his problems in Pennsylvania, and then go back to his life. A life looking over your shoulders can't be too much fun.

They will definately issue a warrent, and they will watch for a change of address, a license being issued ect. and if he is ever stopped by the police or they find out where he is the local law department will pick him up and he will be shipped back to PA

He would be out of PA.s jurisdiction, however Missouri can arrest him based on the warrant should they find him, and hold him until PA decided to get him.  There are specific laws that provide for the return of scramming probationers across state lines - extradition.  Some states may only choose to extradite someone from an adjacent state.  Others may just decide to let things go if it's an old case and the time involved isn;t too serious.  

I've been a prosecutor for nearly a decade, and I've seen probationers brought back from across America - your friend is best advised to rectify his mistake.
