Question:

My grand kids are jealous?

I have seven grand children. But the six are jealous of my twelve year old grand daughter. She's not treated any differently by me or my husband, but the others say they don't like her because she's "so pretty".

In my other grand children's words "big green eyes, gray-brown hair, long dark lashes". But they're all beautiful! They all have blue eyes and blond hair. They seem to think that because of her "greyish" hair and dark green eyes that she's treated differently.

  1. I don't think it's that she's treated differently, as much as it is that she LOOKS differently from them.

Think about it, all blond, blue eyed. While she alone among the grandkids gets to look different.

Find little things that is different about each of them.. and start complimenting them over it. Show them that even though they may resemble, they each are different and special in their own way.

  2. make a point of telling all of them, every time you see them, that they're beautiful. Say it casually, and if they bring her up, explain that looks don't matter, and even if they did, it wouldn't make a difference because you love them all. Ask them why they are thinking that there's favoritism.

  3. tell them to quit their nit picking. DO NOT ENCOURAGE BAD BEHAVIOR.... don't even listen to it.  THAT IS THE ONLY THING THAT WILL STOP IT.  if you keep listening they will keep talking. so therefore you are as much to blame as they are.
