I don't know what type of hamster it is. But i usually feed it each 2 days because when i carry her,she Always has some food in her cheeks, so i feed her each tow days. Now that i see her food plate there is still the same amount of food inside it. I don't feed the hamster a WHOLE bunch, but i Only give it a little bit. I put sunflowers (From the hamster bag) in the plate, but the next day the sunflowers are still there. What could possibly be wrong with her. She never escaped from her cage

Usually She sleeps most of the time, including night. She hardly runs on her wheel. She looks fine to me. I have two cages connected to each other to give space. Her legs are kind of weak,so she can't run very fast.

She looks White, and a little gray in the bottom of her body. She weights light, unlike hamsters i used to had.

What could possibly be wrong with her. My school gave me the hamster because no one wanted to keep the hamster. But they didn't told me what type of hamster it was.

PLEASE HELP

  1. I would be unable to tell you what type of hamster she is unless you post a photo of her.

Is she new to your house? Maybe she is undergoing an adjustment phase. Hamsters take sometime to adjust to new surroundings and if this is the case, just let her be there without disturbance for a week and she would start becoming normal in some days.

Each hamster is different in its behavior. Most hamsters are nocturnal and sleep all through daytime. They normally become active when the house is dark and quiet. Also they hardly eat a teaspoonful of food a day, so maybe you cannot see the dish emptying for a few days.

You can also check the following signs to decide if she is sick or not -

    1. Is she peeing and pooping properly? p**p should be solid, if it is watery then she is sick.

    2. Is her fur healthy and shiny? Dull looking fur and bald spots on the fur are a sign of sickness.

    3. Is her eyes clear?

    4. Does she respond to scents and sounds?

If all the above vital signs are fine, then your hamster is not having any problems at all. If you are still worried, you can take her to a vet for consultation.

Since she is such a finicky eater, I would suggest you feed her protein rich treats like bits of hard boiled egg, unsalted cheese and skimmed milk. You can also feed her formula with a syringe (this is the formula for kittens available in all pet shops) until she starts eating better herself. Also add vitamin drops (also available in pet shops) to her water to compensate for nutrition loss due to her finicky eating.

  2. I think your hamster is sick. First of all, you should bring your pet to a big wide and open lawn. You should let your pet to have some air and sunshine in the nature. It is a good way to cure a baby white rat by the nature but not risky of running away from her freedom in the big lawn instead of the wheeling cages. Try this, your hamster will cycling the wheels again. Keep your hamster in the nature for a few days, say one or two hours each time.
