  1. Give him some tulips and then turn him into jam.

Everyone knows tulips come from hamster jam

  2. don't be overly aggressive when picking him up. stay calm move your hand slowly toward him. allow him to get comfortable while he is still in the cage in his own surroundings. then take him out allow him spend time with you out side of the cage. no sudden movement and no loud noises like other little kids playing around

  3. if you just bought him , it would be shy, timid, or aggresive.give him little treats of bread crumbs , uncooked veges, or hardboiled eggs, it would warm up to you don`t worry no hamster likes their owner at first

  4. Robo's are best for being in the cage not being out of it. They won't sit on your hand. sorry.

1.Put your hand in the cage and let him sniff it. Place a treat in the palm of your hand. Don't make any rapid movements.

    2. Once he feels confident about being in your hand pet him with your finger

    3. Keep working with your hamster and talk softly with him while you tame him.

It will take several weeks to tame him though. The way through his heart is through his stomach. Find a treat he absolutely loves and see if that works better.

Your Robo will become calmer when you tame it.

    Good luck

  5. You have to break its spirit. Fatten him up & give him lots to play with. Then maybe he won't try to break free anymore.

...really I don't know. It's an energetic animal in a cage--I think trying to escape is what they do.

What if you put him a really big round tub that he couldn't climb out of and pet him while he's running around like crazy inside. Maybe he'll get use to your touch then, or just climb up on you to get out--but either way its something to try. Good Luck!

  6. Robo hamsters are generally more hyperactive compared to other hamsters and also tend to run away in a jiffy due to their tiny sizes. Also a robo that runs away from your whenever you go near him signifies that he is still scared of you. You have to be really patient with him before you can win his trust and be his friend for life.

Taming your hamster can be a long process, don't expect your hamster to suddenly like be handled over night. It can take weeks or even months depending on the hamster. Here the the steps to handling a hamster -

STEP 1 - When your hammy is in his cage, talk to him softly and hang around his cage enough for him to get used to your voice and smell. After this time feed your hamster some treats from your hand so he get used to seeing your hand. This might take a few days to happen but be patient. If you feel that the hamster still bites you, you can use gloves initially.

PRECAUTION - always interact with the hamster only when he is active. If you touch him or disturb him when he is sleeping, he can get angry and bite viciously.

STEP 2 - Once your hamster seems confident with taking treats out of your hand you can try to start handling your hamster. Before you handle your hamster make sure you have washed your hands well. Hamsters have a strong sense of smell. If they smell something on your hand they may mistake it for food and decide to bite!

Get a cup or something similar and place it into the hamster's cage. He should come to investigate and crawl inside. Take the hamster and cup out of the cage and let him walk out onto your hand. While you do this make sure you're sat down or sat close to the floor incase your hamster decides to jump. Let him walk from hand to hand. Be careful you don't grab or wrap your hands around your hamster until he is fully tame as this may scare him and he will jump out of your hand.

STEP 3 - Once your hamster is more confident with you, you can start to pick up your hamster straight from it's cage. Just make sure your hamster is aware that you are there, if not you may suddenly scare the hamster and it may turn around and bite you.

Best way to hold hamsters is to make them climb into one hand and cupping the other hand softly over the body so that his head pokes out from the gap between your two hands. Remember, do not apply any pressure on his body, he will get scared and snap at you.

  7. Teehee you've got a roborovski hamster, those ones are tricky.  I've got 3.

This breed is very panicky, hyper and fast.  Some people even call them furry goldfish =(

It's rare that they get tamed so that they allow you to handle them, but some people pull it off with LOTS of patience and time.

Everyday, keep offering him food with your hand.  Just let it stay still and wait until he comes up to you.  Sometimes he will, and sometimes he won't.

Certain days my little ones will slowly climb all over my hand.  Other days, they dart in all directions before my hand's halfway into their cage (it's about 19" in height).

I've noticed that they would be less likely to settle on my hand if I went to the gym on that day.  This breed is super sensitive.  So make sure you're showered and your hands are washed so you smell as neutral as possible.  Also, I've read suggestions of putting your stinkiest sock near the cage so he can become familiar with your scent.

Good luck and I hope eventually he'll come around.  I don't think this breed will come as far along as cuddling with you like teddy bear hamsters do, but on good days he'll let you pet him.
