My leopard gecko is hissing?

i just got a baby leopard gecko and it hisses randomly. is it sick?

should i worry?

  1. your gecko is trying to protect itself,same as a dog barking or growling.


  2. baby leopard geckos have a tendency to be a bit nippy and hiss when they are young.  they tend to tame down though when they get a little bit older.

  3. hes in a new environment and a lil stressed just leave him alone for a few days and he will be fine....i have a female that barks!

No its not sick. like you know when your in a new surrounding and you sometimes get scared? well that's what your geckos doing. because he is scared he will hiss or if you expose it to another gecko they will his at each other. like a cat almost. so yes its perfectly normal. my lizards did the same. so you should not worry at all unless u have another lizard in the tank cuz they may attack each other if so remove them asap.
