My mom got her tubes tied

my mom got her tubes tied 12 years ago and she just got her period and it has only been 15 days since her last one she thinks she may be pregnant could the baby live or not and also she has this pain in her left ovary and what else could it be. please help.

  1. She should have called the doctor as soon as she got a period because that means her tubes are no longer "tied."  She could be having a pregnancy where the embryo is still in the fallopian tube.  She needs to see her doctor ASAP.

  3. I understand your worried about your mother. So ignore the other ignorant comments from other people. Especially if they don't know what the answer is.

    Anyways, she may have a tubal pregnancy. It's been known that after 10 years from getting a tubal ligation (tubes tied) that pregnancy can happen. The baby may be stuck in the fallopian tube. Which is probably causing the pain in her left ovary. The baby can not live in there. She will have to have an abortion. She did the right thing already by going to the doctor. My mom had her tubes tied 30 years ago.  12 years after having them tied, she thought that she was pregnant or in early menopause.  We found out that she was pregnant.  What happened was there was a small hole in one side and a small hole in her uterus.  Somehow an egg made it from one to the other just in the right time to be fertilized.  I have an 18 year old brother now.  It is totally possible that she is pregnant.  

    As for the pain in the ovary and bleeding, it is also possible that she is having other problems that may be not be associated with having her tubes tied at all.  She might have fibroids.  There are a lot of options for what it might be.  I would wait and see what the doctor has to say.  There is no sense in worrying too much about it until you know something.
