My mother recently found a lump in her breast.

She went to our family doctor who gave her an ultrasound.

In the ultrasound they definatley found something, but they

are unsure of what it is.

Does anyone know what breast cancer looks like in an

ultrasound?

She is set to go to a woman's health specialist next week.

What are the chances of it being cancer?

What will they do if it is cancer?

  2. my mom has breast cancer and she's had it for about two 1/2 years.  crazy thing is that when she found a quarter sized lump she went to the doc's right away. they told her it was breast tissue and not to worry.  she noticed it became larger 6 months later and they did a biopsy and found it was cancerous.  they put her on chemo and all cause she was already at a level 4.  she would spend 5-6 days a week in bed crying from the pain in her bones.  she wasn't able to hold food down and was constantly sleeping the days away.  it's one of the hardest things to experience.  we're a god knowing family and would constantly pray for her healing and ask god to take care of her no matter what was to happen.  we found out about 3 months ago her cancer is in remission and has literally evaporated down to the size of a pencil eraser.  the doc's are amazed and have been doing test like crazy cause they can't believe the time of healing and how much better and healthy she feels and looks.  it has literally been a miracle.  health magazine wasn't to do an article on her and interview her to get her story.  it's awesome to see the power of prayer heal someone.  the best thing i could recommend is to be there for her no matter what the outcome is.  It's not easy and it's one of the scariest things you'll ever experience but trust me there's a reason for all of this.  God bless you and your family.

  3. Relax.  There are lots of "lumps" that are not cancerous.  There are cysts, fibrocystic tissue.  Most of the time, these are the causes of lumps.  Breast cancer is not as common as the media leads us to believe.

It's good your mother went in immediately when she found the lump.  Does your mother have a family history of breast cancer?  If not, then chances go down dramatically.

But breast cancer is a highly treatable cancer, so just wait for the results.
