My new clubs.. any good?

My dad just baught me a golf set for christmas after going with him a few times. He baught me a whole set; all the irons are Callaway X-18 Pro-Series, with an Odyssey putter. It came with 3 drivers, 2 smal ones, and one larger Big-Bertha 464 titanium, 10degrees. These all came in a Callaway bag and all other accessories like a Nike glove etc. Are these clubs any good? Im 17 and only just starting out golf.. How much would that have cost my dad?

I have been playing my x-12's (an earlier version of the same clubs) for years and I love them.  I could buy new, but i like these so much that I have no thoughts of changing.  New grips every year and I play 40 rounds a year.  Also I have an old ERC Driver which although actually illegal I would not trade for a new one even though only about 400cc head.

Great clubs and they cost him some good money.

You are very lucky to have received such high quality equipment since you are just starting out.  Total cost for a full set of irons, 3 woods, putter, golf bag etc was probably close to $2000.

your dad got you one of the top lines of clubs  a very good driver  good bag of clubs will last you for a good 5 to8 yrs now go golfing with your dad  many  times as you can you will enjoy your clubs and your dad will have a great big SMILE on his face watching you good golfing enjoy

As already stated, these are excellent clubs! By the way, the set came with 1 driver and 2 fairway woods (probably a 3 and 5 wood). The X-18 irons are very good, forgiving and game improving.

Since your father did such a nice job with the clubs, a nice gift in return will be to take very good care of these clubs and take some lessons so you can use them to their full potential!

Excellent set of clubs and quite expensive, I know the Big Bertha alone is a few hundred dollars.

That was quite the expensive Christmas gift however, you'll be able to use them for years to come.
