My parents are like little kids?

after i clean up, my dad just fallows behind me and messes up. then he claimes that i dont do anything when im at home. and my mom is almost as bad. and i have a long time before i can move out on my own, im not even finished with highscool, and im tired of them acting like pigs. help?

It really sounds like your parents act like kids.

Do you have your own room?

If you do, make sure that you keep all your own stuff in there. Everything, nothing in the communal areas. Not even a little pile of papers. Nothing ever.

Then make sure that in communal areas you are always super clean yourself. So you take a glass, you put it directly in the dishwasher, etc. etc. etc. Make sure that whatever you do in the communal areas, you clean up after immediately.

Never leave anything anywhere that anyone could nag about.

And do more stuff in your room.

If you don't have your own room, it's tougher. You'll have to be super neat and super clean all the time.

It seems like it's a game for them, and they enjoy seeing you clean. You need to stop the game, by not cleaning up after them. Just make sure that you clean your own stuff all the time, that's the stuff that you need to take responsibility.

Don't even let your Mom do your laundry. Deal with your own stuff (& a little more), and they should then deal with their own.

i hate it...

and i too have many years to go till i move out!

but, i have talked to my parents about their "actions"

(like they arrrre little kids...) and they seemed to have understood...cause now its not as bad! (:

so, maybe you just talk to them about how you feel.

Stop cleaning up. See if they appreciate it a week or two when you do start cleaning up again.
