  1. 1st, go take a corded phone out to your phone box on the outside of your house (take a screwdriver). Open the box and unplug the 'cord' you see and plug in the phone you took with you.  IF the phone is still filled with static - the problem is with the phone company and you need to call them.  My parents had a similar problem and it was due to a wasp nest built in the main junction.

If the phone line is clean when you test it at the box, it mean the problem is within the wiring of your house.  If you call the phone company and do not have the monthly line insurance charge, they will charge you (out the ying yang) to repair it.

If you confirm it is your wiring, try unplugging all your phones, then test a phone jack. If it clears up, it could be one phone (or one jack).  Also, those extension cords for phones can go bad and cause a great deal of static.

If you do need inside line repair, ask around though your friends - someone may know how to fix it.  I've fixed quite a few friends' places when they've had problems... really not hard to do.

  2. go to your local cellphone store they will fix it for free. if its not a cellphone buy a new one phone for like twenty bucks

  3. 1- do you have DSL? if so ensure your filters are installed properly, and are not defective

2- static usually only affects the line past the point where the trouble is, unlike most troubles, but not all the time... so check at your NID on the side or back of your house for static, if there is static there, then the trouble is outside.. if the trouble comes when it is raining, it is highly likely that it is an outside trouble..

3- check the pins inside all of your jacks for green color, this indicates water damage... also, open the jacks, and check that the wire that is striped back and connected to the terminals is copper color, and not black, as if the copper turned black, that also indicates water damage to the wiring..

if the jack pins are green, change the jack, if the wire is black, you may need to replace that wire.. check for splices, loose, or wet splices is a major cause for static..

  4. If this is a landline, you need to contact the telephone company so they can come out and see if the line is dirty/staticky and fix it. Not much you can do about it on your own.
