  1. either the aerial is knacked or something is blocking the signal, failing that the phase lock loop as burnt out and the radio can not scan and lock on station any more

  2. Internet radio or terrestrial? If internet, update Flash and Java, make sure all security settings are Medium or lower, disable firewalls.

Here's the one that did it for me when trying to listen to XM's internet Radio: I have a cable modem into a wireless router into a 24-port switch (for our LAN). Turns out it was the switch. Once out of the loop, everything worked fine. The switch manufacturer finally got to the bottom of it after i called and emailed many other sources. Thanks to TrendNet. Give these a try.

If terrestrial, it sounds as if your antenna is disconnected or not there. The digital display keeps going on scan or search because it cannot find a signal strong enough to stop it (they are sometimes set to only pick up signals of a certain strength). Try going up and down the dial manually and see if you can hear a station or two faintly. If so, thats your problem.

Oh, and straighten up, no wonder you can't hear anything bent over like that.
